Made from wire wound a certain number of rotations to create an inductor, a vehicle loop is a sensing device that is installed in a road, and then connected to a vehicle loop detector. When a vehicle drives over the vehicle loop, the presence of the vehicle is then detected by the vehicle loop detector to arm or reset the barrier gate or open if free in/out gate.

These vehicle loops are either saw cut directly into the road, or can also be pre-fabricated with PVC to order. The vehicle loops (PVC or saw cut) are available in standard or oversize vehicle dimensions.
